Official Rules

Entry & Prizes

• The cost to enter this contest is $5.00 per person.
• Every person riding in a golf cart must enter and pay the entry fee.
• Prizes are as follows:
  1st Place: $75
  2nd Place: $50
  3rd Place: $25

Registration & Check-In

• All contestants must register before participating.
• Registration forms are available online by clicking the button above  or at Jo’s Corner Florist, 313 N. Columbia Street, Union City, Indiana.
• Contestants must check in before the event begins.
• Contest registrations should be received no later than 30 minutes prior to the event start, unless a different deadline is provided.
• Late entries may not be accepted once the Poker Run has started.

Eligibility

• Each participant must be entered individually.
• Each person may draw only for their own card.
• Contestants may not combine cards with other participants to create a poker hand.
• All entries are subject to the State Line Heritage Days Committee General Rules and Regulations and the Golf Cart Poker Run Rules.
• Drivers must operate golf carts safely and follow all applicable event, traffic, and course instructions.
• Minors must be accompanied by an adult if required by State Line Heritage Days officials.

Contest Format

• The Golf Cart Poker Run will begin at the official event start time.
• No contestant may begin before the official start time.
• A list of seven stops will be provided at the start of the event.
• Contestants must travel to all seven stops and draw one card at each stop.
• At each stop, the person at that location will validate the contestant’s card by recording the card number and signing the contestant’s signature card.
• A completed signature card must be returned with all seven stops signed.
• Contestants will return to the check-in table, where their cards will be reviewed.
• Winners will be announced after all golf carts have returned and completed cards have been checked.

Contest-Specific Rules

• Each contestant will receive seven cards total, one from each stop.
• Contestants may choose from the seven cards received to make their best poker hand.
• Only one card may be drawn per person at each stop.
• Only the contestant may draw their own card.
• Contestants may not trade, share, or combine cards with any other contestant.
• Signature cards must be complete and signed at all seven stops to be eligible for prizes.
• The signature card may reflect the time each card was drawn.
• Any contestant with a signed card before the official event start time will be disqualified.

Judging & Winner Determination

• Winners will be determined by the best poker hands.
• The best poker hand will win 1st place, followed by the next best hands for 2nd and 3rd place.
• In the event of a tie, tied contestants will draw one card, and the highest card will win.
• Contest officials’ decisions are final.
• Contest officials may disqualify entries that do not follow the rules.

Safety & Conduct

• Contestants must follow all instructions from State Line Heritage Days officials, volunteers, and stop attendants.
• Golf carts must be operated in a safe and respectful manner at all times.
• Unsafe driving, reckless behavior, or interference with another contestant may result in disqualification.
• Contestants are expected to behave respectfully toward officials, volunteers, spectators, stop locations, and other contestants.
• State Line Heritage Days reserves the right to stop or adjust the event as needed for safety, weather, fairness, or event operations.

Disqualification

• Starting before the official event start time.
• Having a signed card before the official event start time.
• Failing to visit all seven stops.
• Returning a signature card without all seven required signatures.
• Drawing more than one card per stop.
• Allowing another person to draw your card.
• Combining cards with another contestant.
• Tampering with cards, signature cards, stop validation, or judging materials.
• Unsafe, unsportsmanlike, or disrespectful behavior.
• Failure to follow instructions from contest officials.

General Rules

• All entries are subject to the State Line Heritage Days Committee General Rules and Regulations.
• State Line Heritage Days reserves the right to clarify rules, adjust procedures, or make final decisions as needed for safety, fairness, or event operations.
• Contest officials have final authority during the event..
